As long as you haven't been in a coma over the last 12 months, you've almost certainly heard about Twitter, the micro-blogging site that's changed the whole Internet. About six months ago I decided it was time for me to see why everyone was raving about Twitter, so I joined and started tweeting. Almost every day at my Twitter Page people have been getting my Think and Grow Rich Quotes from Napoleon Hill, Andrew Carnegie and myself. They let me know the quotes they like and on average each one gets retweet seven times, some more than 10. Over time these Think and Grow Rich Quotes have become so popular I'm now in the Top 10 for my state, according to TwitterCounter.com, the authority on stats for Twitter users. How did I get to be in the Top 10? More importantly, what can you learn about that? First of all, I fell in love with Twitter so I had a lot of fun using it. (I saw myself as playing, not working.) Secondly, getting Twitter followers became important to me. I made it a priority that I focused on almost every day. We know that whatever you decide is important you give attention to and put effort into it consistently. Realistically I have put 60 to 90 minutes a day into Twitter, and that steady, consistent effort is how I've been able to rank so high at the site. To put this into perspective, just yesterday I saw someone promoting an offer to help people get more Twitter followers and he was saying over the last year he's gotten 10,000. That may seem like a lot to him, although I've gotten that many new followers in the last month. The point is not about getting high on Twitter, unless that's truly important to you. The point is to accomplish whatever your burning desire is, to borrow from Think and Grow Rich and the core component of "The Success Philosophy" in Napoleon Hill's book. First become real clear about what that is for you, as well as what you need to do to accomplish it. And then begin doing what it takes to make it happen. For example: "Getting in the top 10 for Arizona on Twitter, which means (at the time) I need at least 50,000 followers. That means finding 60-90 minutes each day and making the undying commitment to follow through and do that consistently, as close to every single day as is possible." And then doing that! What is it you're going to accomplish?
